The British High Commission Abuja has the following vacancy in its Technical Works section:

Position: LE III TWG Foreman


The British High Commission is looking for one TWG foreman to work in its busy Technical Works Group section to carry out mechanical, electrical services and maintenance work. They will also be the first point of contact for contractors working for BHC.

Job Description/ Qualities required

• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of mechanical, electrical services and maintenance work.
• Must have a valid driving licence.
• Must be able to implement and oversee a planned maintenance schedule for all BHC properties.
• To be able to demonstrate knowledge of health and safety procedures in the workplace
• Must be able to allocate reactive and planned maintenance tasks daily to relevant Artisans.
• Supervise TWG artisans and ensure work is carried out to UK standards where possible.
• English language – spoken and written
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Must have a responsive attitude and willingness to use initiative
• Ability to work overtime/respond to emergencies as and when required


The position is full time to be filled as soon as possible.

Working hours are usually from 8am-4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-1pm on Friday but can vary occasionally. The job will be graded LE III with a monthly starting salary of N222, 808.00 including allowances. Successful candidates who are not liable to pay Nigerian tax will be subject to a 10 % tax deduction on the basic salary. The salary will be in Naira.
