Business Development Manager - Nigeria

The Company
Due to market expansion an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our client, a multi-national corporation operating in the FMCG Foods sector.
The overall objective the role is accountability for implementation and monitoring of information management & distribution systems, and the delivery of top line profits and targets for the country/ region.

The Role:
Key responsibilities include:

    * Primary contact with the distributor on all operational & strategic issues
    * Directing & Motivating distributor teams in achieving Company goals
    * Preparation for direct coverage of retail outlets through the use of Distributor sales team.
    * Being an effective connection between the various functions within the organisation and the Distributor teams

    * Execution of all market activation activities in order to achieve impact at point of purchase
    * Achievement of sales targets by developing and controlling the activities of the sales team (company & Distributor) to ensure maximum brand exposure and yield from Trade Promotion Budget.
    * Assuming the position of Brand Champion with the company's appointed Distributors

The Person

Essential knowledge:

    * MBA in Marketing or a related discipline is highly desired
    * A minimum of 5 years work experience at management level
    * Prior work experience in an FMCG environment
    * A strong command over oral and written Business English with an ability to understand and communicate clearly and effectively
    * Strong negotiation skills, leadership and teamwork ability.
    * First- class communication skills, good financial awareness,
    * Planning and organizing, multi-tasking, motivation and customer relationship management skills.
