Position Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Accountable for acquisition of Commercial Banking clients. Offering clients all the Bank’s products, services and resources where appropriate in order to maximize the value of the business relationship and originate profitable solutions for the Bank and the Client.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Core focus on proactively seeking new client acquisition opportunities with companies that fit within the Bank’s Commercial Banking criteria.
• To drive sales and raise awareness of the Banks Business Banking products to Commercial clients
• Liaising with the Banks product teams to provide customized product solutions based on an intimate knowledge of existing and future products.
• Effective credit analysis for prospects with lending potential, ensure such credits are booked and client is successfully handed over to the Commercial Banking Relationship Manager.
• Ensure that these deals are structured effectively to minimize the risk of the Bank and maximize returns
• Maximize customer relationship penetration and explore all future cross-sell opportunities before hand over to relationship managers.
• Build a robust client acquisition pipeline
• Arrange pitches and presentations for identified prospects and make such presentation.
• Understand the micro and macro economic factors affecting the clients and apply these insights into structuring solutions for prospects.
• Develop relationships and manage expectations across internal clients, such as credit and legal departments
• Ensuring compliance with Bank procedures and KYC guidelines to ensure good credit quality and security

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES
• Volume of new business generated from new client acquisitions (Assets and Liabilities etc.)
• Number of new Commercial Banking clients acquired.
• Cross Sell Ratio of products per client
• Development of strong and fluid working relationships with related business units
• Control and manage risk by ensuring proper KYC and compliance with Banks procedures
• Minimize costs by ensuring appropriate pricing on all loans and accounts

KEY DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to identify potential clients and aggressively seek new business
• Understanding of the local commercial banking environment
• Capacity to find creative solutions to meet client needs
• Ability to sell a range of the Banks products
• Develop a solid pipeline of potential clients

IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS
• Principal line responsibility to the Head, Business Banking Acquisitions
• Also expected to report to Commercial Banking Suite Managers where necessary
• Relationship Commercial Banking Relationship Managers
• Establish good relationships with various Product teams, Credit, Legal, and branch network
• Relationship with regional and head office management

Experience
• Minimum of a BSC from any reputable higher institution
• Minimum of 6 years banking experience
