Operations Manager

Role Summary/Purpose:  

Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Plant Manager, the O&M Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring:

o Power Plant compliance with all operational aspects of the O&M Agreement between General Electric and the Customer
o Power Plant compliance in all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental programs and procedures as applicable to the Power Station by implementing and managing GE EHS procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:     o Development of Quality Operational procedures consistent with protecting the Customer's investment and achieving maximum Power
Plant availability at lowest heat rate in a safe, reliable, economical and environmentally friendly manner
o Establishing, maintaining and auditing routines, for all operational aspects of the Power Plant, within a quality framework accreditable

to internationally recognized standards.
o Agreement with the Customer on a suite of suitable administrative procedures and processes to manage Fuel Nominations, Dispatch
and Availability Profiles, in order to comply with all O&M contractual requirements.
o Ensuring that the Power Plant remains operational at all times within any Environmental Consents and obligations.
o Maintaining a team of reliable and qualified personnel to operate the Power Plant on a continuous shift basis.
o Administer, control and Audit all aspects of the sites Environmental, Health and Safety Manual in relation to the Permit to Work System.
o Manage and implement GE EHS procedures within area of responsibility.
o Manage and monitor effectiveness of initial and refresher EHS training provided to all operations personnel.
o Recruitment, training and personal development of Operations team members.
o Development, monitoring and control of Operations Department budget.
o Development of auditable training and accreditation schedules for operations team leaders and technicians.
o Provision of support services to the Maintenance Department for completion and recording of routine maintenance activities.
o Development and draw down of various support contracts for effective operation and maintenance of the Power Plant.
o Management of complex issues within functional areas of expertise.
o Establishes and sustains within the Operations team a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment.
o Be available on a call rotation with the other members of the Management team at all times.
o Deputise for the Plant Manager as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:  

o Minimum of a B.Sc degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Power Plant management or supervisory role.
o A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.
- Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:    
Desired Characteristics:  

o GB certified (GE employees only). o Exposure to and participation in Lean manufacturing initiatives. o Ability to apply statistical methods for process improvement. o Ability and willing to travel from time to time as required by the Business. o Fluent in written and spoken English. o Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of an organisation. o Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. o Prior experience of GE Turbines is preferred.


Maintenance Manager

Role Summary/Purpose:  

Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Plant Manager, the O&M Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring Power Plant compliance with all engineering and maintenance aspects of the O&M Agreement between General Electric and the Customer

In this role, the Maintenance Manager will lead a Maintenance team of highly trained, skilled and experienced personnel in the safe and efficient maintenace of a Gas Turbine Power Station.

Essential Responsibilities:  

o Ensuring compliance in all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental programs and procedures as applicable to the Power Station and General Electric requirements.
o Ensuring compliance with all maintenance aspects of the O&M Agreement between General Electric and the Customer including allstatutory requirements.
o Leading a team of reliable and qualified personnel within the Maintenance department through strategic recruitment, succession planning, training, development and motivation of individuals and the team
o Continuous development, improvement and auditing of a comprehensive site maintenance strategy utilising a CBM philosophy, within
a quality framework accreditable to internationally recognized standards and consistent with protecting the Customers investment
while achieving maximum Power Plant availability at the lowest heat rate in a safe, reliable, economical and environmentally friendly manner.
o Establishing, maintaining and auditing routines, for all maintenance aspects of the Power Plant, within a quality framework accreditable to internationally recognized standards.
o Use of 6 Sigma tools to drive quality & enhanced customer value through all maintenance activities.
o Initiate an FMEA and implement a strategy to avert operational risk on all plant and equipment.
o Developing the functionality of the site CMMS package
o Developing an overall Gas Turbine/Steam Turbine outage management package covering differing scopes, planning, quality & cost.
o Managing the site spares warehousing facility
o Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with the site Operation Team & other stakeholders
o Participating with the O&M management team in developing & implementing a world class O&M strategy
o Managing the site maintenance & engineering budget
o Developing, proposing, implementing and managing capital scheme projects on behalf of the Customer
o Providing expert technical guidance on engineering standards and repair techniques to minimize production losses.
o Development and draw down of various support contracts for effective operation and maintenance of the Power Plant
o Effectively controlling the selection and placement of new and current contractual agreements with contracting firms and contractors on site.
o Managing and implementing GE EHS procedures within the area of responsibility.
o Managing and monitoring the effectiveness of initial and refresher EHS training provided to all maintenance personnel.
o Provision of support services to the Operations Department for completion and recording of routine maintenance activities.
o Management of complex issues within functional areas of expertise
o Establishing and sustaining within the Maintenance team a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment
o The Maintenance Manager will be available on a call rotation with the other members of the Management Team at all times.
o Deputise for the Plant Manager as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:  

o Recognised formal qualification in an engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
o Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Production is preferred.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Power Plant management or supervisory role.
o A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.
o Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria

Order Operations Manager

Role Summary/Purpose:  

Leads the HCS Order Management team in the Africa Zone to execute on Customers Orders. This team manager is responsible for all aspects of the backlog execution, from order entry to customer acceptance & revenue recognition through equipment ordering from plants & suppliers and coordination of the whole order management cycle.

Essential Responsibilities:  

The Zone OOM is a member of the EAGM OM leadership team, with direct management of the Order Management Specialists (aka PjMs), Demo Specialists or Inventory Specialists dedicated to the Zone.
Success in this role will include delivering on transactions execution across the business – through adoption and drive of the defined operating mechanisms – & collaborating effectively with the various stakeholders (Commercial, GSC FF & Logistics, HPM, Comm Ops, Finance, Service, S&OP, Op Exc, etc.) with the objective to always maximize Customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities/essential functions include:

- Responsible for Order Management excellence & quality in the Zone with continuous alignment to business goals
- Staff member of EMEA OTR, with expectations for excellent partnership with other operating teams and CoE’s, partnering to drive Order Operations excellence in EAGM
- Critical business partner to the Zone leadership team by reaching the required business outcomes, including backlog execution efficiency, predictability of cycle times, finished goods inventory management
- Driving operational rigor & standard process adoption in the Zone in order to stabilize & reduce cycle times, improve service quality and reduce costs – Optimally allocating resources & managing operating costs in order to ensure that sufficient and optimal capability, capacity, scalability and backlog operational controls are in place to fulfill commitments
- Building & strengthening communication & collaboration with GSC Fulfillment, Logistics & Service – Driving a highly collaborative culture, which encourages effective partnership across functional and geographic boundaries to deliver on business imperatives
- Driving a culture of quality & ensuring total Compliance to business and process regulations including order booking & revenue recognition
- Major KPIs: Leadtime compliance – Revenue & Deals predictability – Inventory Turns – OTR Base costs – Execution cycle times (FG CyT variability, order entry CyT)



Qualifications/Requirements:  

1. Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years’ experience in sales, management and or operations
